The first stage of the construction of the current three-story residential building was executed between 1878 and 1879 by a project of the architecture firm of Ferdinand Kittler and Karl Gratzl. The building, which underwent another reconstruction before 1908 by Pittel and Brausewetter, was built by the glovemaker Ferdinand Swetlik, from who it was said that he financed its construction with the money he won in the lottery.
