Hotel Jozef Pölzmann

The two-story residential building, which was built at the beginning of the 20th century, was constructed for the innkeeper Jozef Pölzmann. He was born on March 8, 1870, in Jarovce, which today is part of , in the family of a local innkeeper. In 1898, he married Anna in Malacky, the daughter of the local master butcher Anton Roszkopf. A year later, they had a daughter, Izabela, and a son, Jozef, the following year. Jozef continued in the footsteps of his father and obtained a license for the inn business in Malacky in 1898. His first inn was located elsewhere in the city until he moved into the newly constructed building. Jozef Pölzmann died on June 19, 1918, and was buried in the old cemetery in Malacky. At the end of the , when the events were stormy, several Hungarian officials from Malacky were hiding in the attic of the building. At the time the inn was operated by Jozef's widow Anna Pölzmannová for several months. At the end of 1918, Ján Maxian took over the inn, and later on, it became known as the Tatra Hotel.

The symmetrical building, which is built in the Art Nouveau style, features two top gables, above which two lion statues are placed that are holding a shield. The eave between the top gables is supported by various wooden , in between which a rectangular and an motif was placed. The building features many more geometric forms, including , but also loads of floral decorations, including . Either an adorned with , or a supported by corbels, which are also adorned with guttae.
