The impressive two-story building, which was constructed somewhere in the 17th century, was built for Count Paul Pálffy of Erdőd, who was born on January 19, 1592. Paul Pálffy von Erdöd, who is part of the ancient Hungarian nobility, was hereditary lord of Bibersburg, Count of Plassenstein, Knight of the Golden Spur, from 1650 also Knight of the Golden Fleece, real secret councilor, chamberlain, and colonel. He became hereditary castle captain of the royal castle of Pressburg, nowadays , after the death of his two older brothers Stephan and Johann in 1635. On 26 July 1629, Paul married Maria Franziska Countess von Khuen von Belasy. Their marriage produced two sons and a daughter, who were named John Anton III, Magdalena Theresia, and Johann Karl IV. As early as 1625, Pálffy was elected President of the Hungarian Court Chamber. In 1630, he was entrusted by the provincial authorities with the supervision of the , which had burned down in 1593. Paul, who can be considered the founder of the wealth of the Pálffy family, died on November 25, 1653, in Bratislava and was buried in the Pálffy family tomb built by his mother in Bratislava's .
