The construction of the two-story building, which was built for the residential needs of the chief servant who headed the Malacky district, was completed at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1922, it was bought by Štefan Mereš, who built an annex towards the main road in which he opened a restaurant named Restaurant America. For a certain time, his restaurant was the seat of the Sokol Union.

The magnificent top gable of the building, which is built in the Art Nouveau style, contains a lavishly decorated and an motif that's placed above the window. The latter is also placed above the second floor windows, above which loads of squares are used as geometric decorations. The top of the annex is brightened up with a total of ten .
