Iustin Marșieu House

The two-story residential building was built somewhere at the end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th century according to a project of an unknown architect. Between March 27, 1919, and May 1, 1920, the building was inhabited by the lawyer and prefect of the city and county of Arad, Iustin Marșieu. He was born in in 1879 and attended primary school in Socodor and . After graduating from the Moise Nicoară High School in Arad, he attended the Faculty of Law in . Between 1901 and 1905 he was an intern in the office of lawyer Mihai Veliciu, after which he practiced law in Arad. He was an active member of the Arad National Association for the Culture of the Romanian People and a collaborator of the Tribuna Poporului newspaper, as well as one of the newspaper's lawyers in the press lawsuits filed by the Hungarian state. He was a member of the Romanian National Party from Transylvania and prefect of Arad County between 1919 and 1920 and between 1928 and 1931. He was displaced with mandatory residence in , convicted as a landlord and member of the National Peasants' Party, and imprisoned as a political prisoner between 1952 and 1955. Seriously ill, he was released on December 19, 1955, and died a few days later in Arad.

On top of the building, which was built in the Eclectic and Neo-Renaissance styles, underneath large parts of the eaves, you can see that flow down into a floral decoration. These same floral decorations are used in some of the , as well as the that support the pointed . In addition to these pointed pediments, you can also admire some straight pediments, circular forms, a , and above the second floor windows. Underneath two of these windows, you can admire an that's adorned with a ornament and a total of ten . More volutes are used in the wrought iron railing of the balcony, as well as in the wrought iron above the beautiful wooden main entrance door.
