Yellow House

The exact year of construction and the builder of the new two-story inn, which was called the Yellow House, are not known. The previous inn was completely destroyed during the fire that broke out fire on November 29, 1877, in the store of the merchant Naum Dimović. The noblewoman Jarici von Brodberg had the new inn built, which was bigger and certainly more comfortable, and he also called it the Yellow House. The Jarići family received nobility in 1796 for their services in the , because they supported the imperial army with goods and money, and transported military units and their supplies. The old and new Yellow House received many distinguished guests, including princes, barons, dukes and archdukes, bans, marshals, and field marshals. Among these guests was Prince , who arrived in Slavonski Brod on May 26, 1808. Nine years later, in 1817, the Austrian Emperor and King of Habsburg stayed in the Yellow House. After the , the Croatian Land Bank moved into the first floor and several stores, among which the most famous was the English magazine.

Underneath the roof of the Neo-Renaissance building, you can see two different kinds of strips of , one of which is adorned with foliage. Certain parts of the frieze are embellished with different-sized . Above some of the pointed , which are adorned with dentils and placed above the second floor windows, you can see a sculptural composition of two laying men. The underneath these pediments are adorned with even more rosettes. The , which are located on this same floor, are all crowned with an Ionic . The and one of the balconies feature the same , which differ from the ones that are used in the balcony that's located on the northwestern corner. The central balcony is supported by several , which are decorated with . The entrance underneath the last mentioned balcony is flanked by two columns, which are crowned with a Doric capital.
