Bauer-Kohn House

The construction of the two-story building, which houses a commercial premise on the first floor and residential premises on the upper floor, took place between 1881 and 1882. The residential premises belonged to the Bauer and Kohn families, while the commercial premise was in use by the bookstore of Sigmund Reich, nicknamed Žiga. Žiga was born on September 18, 1876, in , in the family of Moritz Reich and Lota Reich. Žiga was married to Friedericke Miroslava Reich, maiden name Herzog, with whom he had three children, who were named Slavko, Vladimir, and Zdenko. Žiga, Friedericke, and Vladimir were all killed during the , while the brothers Slavko and Zdenko survived the Holocaust. The building lost its roof during the that took place during the , which was later reconstructed, but with a lower level than its original.
Žiga Reich
The that are placed underneath the roof of the Neo-Renaissance building are decorated with foliage. The frames that are placed within the frieze feature some vacant . Either a pointed or a segmental is placed above the second floor windows, of which the latter also features a vacant medallion. The pointed pediments are supported by two , while the segmental pediment is supported by a total of four corbels.
