Leonidas Pachany House

The construction of the two-story building, which was built for residential and commercial purposes, was completed in 1906 by the Croatian construction entrepreneur . It was built for the wealthy merchant and banker Leonidas Pachany, who was born in 1867 as the son of Constantin Anastas Pachany and Klementina, maiden name Wanner. Leonidas was married to Mileva Tassovac, who was born in 1871 as the daughter of the very rich owner of the first Slavonski Brod steam mill. The building at first housed Pachany's Inn, which was taken over by Maks Spitzer in 1909. The Pachany family lived upstairs until they left for where Leonidas worked as a banker and died in 1944. Later on, the paper shop of the printer and bookseller Dušan Zdravković was located in the building, and his smaller printing house was located in the back rooms. This small printing house was sold in 1926 to Josip Pečvarac.

The building, built in the Art Nouveau style, features two semi-hexagonal . The building also features a , which is secured with a wrought iron railing that contains the initials of the former owner, as well as various . The beautiful decorations that are used to embellish the building consist of playful lines, various glazed ceramic tiles, and foliage to which a ring is attached.
