The two-story building, which was built with commercial premises on the first floor and residential premises on the second floor, was constructed somewhere at the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th century. The second floor housed the residence of Angelo D'Elie, while the first floor housed the Singer store, the dairystore named Hem, and the coffee shop Port Artur. Also, located on the first, was the Master Mrkonje's shoemaker's shop, where the 11-year-old apprentice Adam Mikić used to work since 1911, on who the her novel called "The Strange Incident of the Apprentice Hlapić" was based, which was written by the great writer and neighbor Ivana Brlić Mažuranić. The building was destroyed during the of Slavonski Brod, which took place during the .

The corner of the Neo-Renaissance building was determined by an , which like the balcony that was secured with a wrought iron railing, is supported by two . Above the other second floor windows, a straight pediment was placed that was adorned with a ornament decorated with floral decorations, which also counts for the ornaments underneath these same windows.
