District Administration Building

The two-story building of the Vidin District Administration, built for administrative purposes, was built somewhere in the 19th century. The balcony of the building was the stage of of Battenberg's last words addressed to the Bulgarian people after which he left Bulgaria forever. This happened after the coup of , 1886, carried out by a group of officers and cadets, who forcibly sent him out of Bulgaria. , with the help of and troops loyal to the prince, carried out a counter-coup, declared the dethronement a state crime, and invited the prince to return by telegram. Alexander Battenberg was welcomed triumphantly in Bulgaria three days later, but his reign lasted only 9 more days. After a last, unsuccessful attempt to reconcile with the Russian Emperor , on August 26, the prince decided, despite the insistence of Stambolov, the army, and the people, to abdicate on August 26, 1886, and left by steamer for .

The building of the District Administration was demolished somewhere in the 1920s, and on its site, in 1930, the building of the so-called Audit Office was built, where after 1945 the administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was housed. The building was blown up and demolished by the then-communist authorities in 1979 and the current building of the courthouse was built on the vacated land.

The symmetrical building, of which each corner is determined by , was built in the Historicism architectural style. Above the second floor windows, you could either see a straight or a pointed , of which the latter is supported by two and placed in the . A was placed above the first floor windows, as well as the main entrance door, above which also a balcony was placed, which was supported with two more corbels and secured with a stone balustrade with incorporated . The building of the Audit Office featured two , as well as several that were crowned with an Ionic .
