The construction of the three-story building, which was built for administrative and commercial purposes, was finished in 1913. The building was built according to a design of the Austro-Hungarian architect , and at first, it became in use as a branch of the Austro-Hungarian Bank, which was founded in 1878. The location for the bank was chosen for the reason that this area, thanks to the proximity of the officer's home, the officer's barracks, and the bridge, was extremely busy. The bank was liquidated in the financial turmoil following the collapse of the Habsburg Monarchy in late 1918, just after the . After the it housed Investiciona Banka, and later on, it became the home of the Privredna Banka Sarajevo.

The attic of the building, which was built in the Art Nouveau and Neo-Classical styles, contains not only a dome surrounded by decorative vases and topped with a sculptural composition but also two protruded parts adorned with guttae. These guttae are also used to be decorated with , which are placed within the frieze. The that gives the building a majestic appearance contains two male sculptures that hold up a garland within their midst a shield-shaped . The tympanum is embellished with , as well as a motif, which also adorns the surrounding . The five fragments that are placed within the frieze contain either one or three surrounded by floral . The building contains many more fragments, which are adorned with garlands, and decorative vases. The three wrought iron are lavishly decorated with floral ornamentation and supported by two . The four huge columns that stretch all the way up from the second until the third floor are all crowned with a Doric . The , which are placed above the three entrance doors, all contain different . Much use has been made of , all of which are decorated with .
