The construction of the three-story building, which was built for residential purposes, was completed in 1889. It was built according to a design that came from the hand of the Austro-Hungarian architect and became in use by Hotel Central. The hotel was built in the place of Ajas-Beg mosque, which was built in 1474 by the Bosnian governor Ajas-Beg. The hotel was heavily damaged during the but was completely renovated and brought capacity to service after the war.
