Sándor Kolozsváry House

- Strada Iosif Vulcan 2 -
The four-story residential and commercial building was built between 1911 and 1912 on a plot where a one-story building used to stand that was demolished in 1910. It was built according to a project of the local Hungarian architect for the jeweler Sándor Kolozsváry. He sold jewelry-related items, precious gems, diamonds, brilliants, and other Baroque silver objects, in his jewelry store, which is the oldest jewelry store in Oradea ever since 1792. His jewelry store was located on the first floor together with the Markovits and Weinberger fashion store. The first floor was intended for a fashion salon, and on the upper two floors, there were five apartments with all the necessary equipment. At the time of completion, the building was one of the most modern in the city, being built on a steel structure, with an elevator.
