Bihor County Savings Bank

- Piața Regele Ferdinand 4 -
The construction of the three-story building, which was built for residential, administrative, and commercial purposes, was completed in 1907. The construction was executed according to a design that came from the hand of the Hungarian architect for the Bihor County Savings Bank, which was founded on December 1, 1872. Five years later, the building was extended towards the courtyard, being equipped with a theater performance hall and a cinema. The building functioned as a bank headquarters until nationalization in 1948. During the communist period, the Romanian Association for Strengthening Ties with the Soviet Union was established in the performance hall, operating there until 1989. After 1990, the building again became the headquarters of a credit institution, where the Romanian Development Bank opened a branch, which renovated the facades in 2003.
