Constantin Vălimărescu House

The two-story building, which was built between 1892 and 1893, was constructed according to the design of the French architect . The construction, which took place on a plot that was bought from the National Bank of Romania by the entrepreneurs Costa and Nedelcu, was commissioned by the magistrate Constantin Vălimărescu. Constantin was born January 18, 1848, in Moţăţei, and obtained his doctorate in law in , and after completing his studies abroad, he returned to Craiova, where in 1874 he started working as a prosecutor. He later moved to the Court of Appeal in Craiova, where he successively served as prosecutor, president, and first president. He was married to the daughter of Colonel Ion Greceanu, Ana Greceanu, with whom he had three children, Jeana, Alexandru, and Constantin. Constantin Vălimărescu died on December 9, 1911, in Craiova, being buried in Sineasca Cemetery.

A roof terrace is placed on top of the porch that's located on the building, which is built in the styles of Eclectic and Neo-Baroque. The balustrade of the roof terrace contains the same as the ones that are used for the banisters, , and balconies, which are all supported by two . On top of the three arches, which are supported by two columns, you can admire a that contains the letter V. The that are placed above some of the windows, some of which are supported by two corbels, while the others are adorned with a decorative shell and . The part underneath the roof cornice is lavishly decorated with , an motif, as well as a head of a that's surrounded by foliage. Some of the wooden corbels, which support the roof overhang above them, are adorned with a fresco perdicting a landscape.
