Svetozar Arnovljević Villa

The construction of the two-story building, which was built for residential purposes, began in 1903 and was completed in 1906. It was built by the old spa doctor Svetozar Arnovljević, who practiced there over the summer. During the , the manager of the Anglo-Serbian hospital in Vrnjačka Banja, James Berry, was living in the villa with his wife Frances May Dickinson. James was a Canadian-born British surgeon born in 1860 in in the family of the English solicitor Edward Berry. He took his studies at the Whitgift School and Saint Bartholomew's Hospital, both located in . In 1885 he became a surgeon at the Alexandra Hospital for Diseases of the Hip, in Queen Square but in 1891 was elected consulting surgeon at the Royal Free Hospital. From 1921 until 1922, he was President of the Medical Society of London, and from 1926 until 1928, he was the President of the Royal Society of Medicine. In 1891, he got married to Frances May Dickinson, who was born in 1857, in the family of Sebastian Dickinson.
James Berry
Frances May Dickinson an anaesthetist, was a distinguished doctor in her own right. She studied at Bedford College, University of London, and worked alongside James in a Red Cross hospital in Serbia during the First World War. Later, she became an anesthetist at the Royal Free Hospital as well as Assistant Medical Officer of the London County Council, President of the Association of Registered Medical Women, and Honorary Secretary of the Anaesthesia Section of the Royal Society of Medicine.

Before the , the building became known under the names Nadežda, Arnovljević, then Sutjeska, then Villa San, and later on, it was called Villa Emilia. After the Second World War, the famous writer was a frequent guest at the villa.
Frances May Dickinson
On the northeastern corner of the building that's built in the style of Art Nouveau, you can see a that's covered with a cone-shaped dome, which is crowned with and a . The building contains three top gables, all of which are embellished with a beautiful . In addition, the building features many geometric and some floral ornamentation, as well as several female . The roof overhang, as well as the balconies that are located on the northern and eastern sides of the building, are all supported by various . The balcony railings, which also include the one that's placed on top of a semi-circular bay window, are adorned with .
