Kiro Stefanov House

The residential building, with its white beige sandy color, was built for the manufacturer Kiro Stefanov. The building was built in 1921, as can be seen in the just under the front . The building was designed by the Bulgarian architect , one of the most prominent names in the construction past of Bulgaria.

Kiro Stefanov was born on the 1st of July 1860, in . He is the son of one of the great Bulgarian industrialists Georgi Stefanov and the brother of the Minister of Finance , who had the difficult task of leading Bulgaria through the difficult times of the Great Depression.

The family was the owner of the successful Sliven fabric factory "Georgi Stefanov and Sons". It was established in 1888 by Georgi Stefanov, ten years after the establishment of the Principality of Bulgaria. Later, the industrialist Georgi Stefanov handed over the management to his eldest son, Stefan Stefanov, politician and Minister of Finance in the Kingdom of Bulgaria.

After the nationalization, in December 1947, the house was used as an administrative building until 1959 for the financial department of the Central Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party, and then for the same purposes of the Sofia People's Council.

The three-story building, built in the styles of Neo-Baroque, Neo-Renaissance, and Art Nouveau, is adorned with many architectural ornaments. The corner of the main facade of the building is highlighted by a dome with a on top, as well as two balconies. While looking at the dome you'll see four decorative vases and two cartouches adjacent to the one in the middle. The balcony and are decorated with foliage, as well as the cast iron above the main entrance door. The beautiful stucco on the second floor is adorned with floral ornaments. The above it are different in size, of which the bigger ones are adorned with . There are two more cartouches on either side of the building. The above each of the windows on the second floor are embellished with and garlands. Each frame around the windows on the first floor contains two sets of three different-sized . are placed on top of the roof, on both sides of the building.

In addition to the beautiful courtyard terrace, you can see an through the wrought iron fence.

The building was restored several times and even changed its color from burgundy to the current beige.
