Hotel Cișmigiu

The construction of the four-story building was completed in 1912 and was built with a residential function for the Palace Hotel. The building was built according to a project of the Romanian architect of origin, , and the resistance structure was designed by the Romanian engineer of Aromanian origin, . The hotel, which was owned by the Pissiota family, was built to house 200 rooms, including rooms with four beds. The hotel was owned by the family until 1948 when it was nationalized by the communist regime. On this occasion, its name was changed to Cișmigiu Hotel, a name derived from Cișmigiu Park, located nearby. During the communist period, the hotel was neglected by the authorities, gradually deteriorating. After 1990, the building was transformed into a dormitory for the students of the Theater and Film Academy. After a long renovation, the Cișmigiu hotel was reopened in 2012 and is classified as 4 stars.

The steep mansard roof of the Eclectic building contains several dormers and the domes placed within the roof are crowned with one or two . The , which curves perfectly around the fourth floor windows, is embellished with large . The wrought iron , which are placed underneath most of the fourth, third, and second floor windows, are in some cases supported by two within their midst some floral ornamentation, and a . The building contains a total of four , which are all supported by two corbels that are decorated with a garland wreath.
