The construction of the current religious residential building, which was built according to the project that was created by the Hungarian architect , started in 1903 and was completed in 1905. In the 18th century, the Roman Catholic Bishop Paul Forgách built a parish house on the site of the current building for the parish priest of the Roman Catholic , after the construction of the respective church. The demolition works of the old building, preserving some parts of the old one, began on August 10, 1903. The construction of the newly built building, which was inaugurated on July 11, 1905, was commissioned by then-Bishop . In 1948, the building was seized by the communists leaders and turned into a folksy school, and later it became the seat of the County Library.

The most distictive feature of the building, which is built in the styles of Eclectic and Neo-Gothic, is the topped with a lantern tower that's crowned with a . The building also contains two lantern towers, as well as a various amount of dormers of all shapes and sizes. The part that's placed between the two lantern towers, which is topped with a cross, features a coat of arms. Much use has been made of for the decoration of the building, which in some cases are filled with floral ornamentation..
