József Domány Palace

- Piața Avram Iancu 16 -
The three-story building, which was constructed around 1889, was built with commercial premises on the first floor and residential premises on the upper floors. It was built on the site of the old town hall of Arad, which was built in the 18th century and demolished in the 1880s, after the construction of the current town hall. The construction of the newly built building was commissioned by the wine merchant József Domány, who was born in 1836. After graduating from school, he entered his father's business and then traveled abroad to expand his commercial and winemaking knowledge in France, Germany, and Italy.
