Iván Urbán Villa

The construction of the two-story building, which was solely built with a residential function, was completed in 1904. The building was built by the project of the Hungarian architect József Steiner for Baron Iván János Urbán, who was born on September 8, 1846, in the village of Manerău, as the third child of district judge Gyula Urbán and Konstancia Sissányi. At a very young age, he was one of the civil servants of Arad County, but in 1884 he returned to the estates in Törökbecs, nowadays , inherited from his mother, where he engaged in farming. On September 18, 1869, in Arad, he got married to Miss Mária Melania Purgly, with whom he had three children, Péter Pál Urbán, Mária Ilona Urbán, and Erzsébet Ilona Benedikta Urbán. In 1896, he handed over his estates in Törökbecsei to his son Péter. During the prime ministership of , in October 1900, he was appointed mayor of the county of Arad and the town of Arad but resigned from his position in 1905 when the government of Baron was appointed. In 1910, he returned to his position as headmaster, which he held until his death on October 9, 1915.

The Art Nouveau building features several top gables, which are either adorned with a globe, or a and . The that split in two at some point, are all crowned with an Ionic that's adorned with another mascaron. In addition to , you can also admire many floral ornaments around the windows. Underneath the oval-shaped window, you can see a richly decorated containing a knight, while underneath the -shaped window, you can see another mascaron surrounded by vines. An is placed above the entrance that's located in a bay window, located on the western side of the building. Next to this bay window, you can see two , one of which is topped with a roof terrace that's secured with a lovely wrought iron railing.
