Cenad Palace

The three-story building was erected in the period between 1892 and 1894 as the headquarters of the Arad–Cenad Railway Company, which was founded in 1873. The plans were created in the workshop of the Hungarian architect from , being modified by the Arada architect Lajos Jiraszek. The funds for the construction were provided by the very wealthy and aristocratic Count Želenski Robert, who was also one of the founders of the railway company. The railway company operated until 1927, and after that, the offices were converted into apartments. After the of 1989, the building became a multi-purpose building, housing elegant offices that are used by city officials, parliamentarians, and various other non-government organizations.

A tower-like structure is placed on top of two of the corners of the building, which is built in the styles of Eclectic and Neo-Renaissance. The structures are topped with a bell-shaped dome, which features a lantern tower that's crowned with a . The structure contains several topped with , and some balustrades with the same incorporated as the balconies, which are supported by two impressive . The protruded parts of the roof, which are just like the roof adorned with , are topped with . At this same height, you can see some , as well as loads of dormers, which are either decorated with , , or an open pointed that contains another cartouche.

Some parts of the frieze are embellished with garland wreaths, and in some cases even with a lion head . The building features many columns and , which are all crowned with a Composite . Either a straight, pointed, or segmental pediment is placed above the second and third floor windows, some of which are supported by two corbels that show a . Between these windows, in addition to a wavy pattern, you can also see various mascarons showing the head of the Greek god , as well as cartouches decorated with a lion but also a . The keystones that are placed above the first floor windows are also adorned with another mascaron. Many of the stone blocks that are used to build up the first floor are decorated with .
