Drama Theater Ivan Dimov

The multi-story building, which was built with a cultural function, was constructed in 1926 the house the city's Dramatic Theater. The first recorded performance in Haskovo took after the of Bulgaria, in 1879, and was based on the play called Nevyanka and Svetoslav by . In 1921, the Rhodope National Theater was founded with a center in Haskovo, with a permanent troupe, which was transformed into the Municipal People's Theater in 1945. Since 1972, the theater bears the name of , an outstanding Bulgarian actor who played many memorable roles on the Haskovo stage in the late 1950s and early 1960s. In 2000, the Dramatic Theater fused with the Puppet Theater and became the Drama and Puppet Theater Ivan Dimov. The building was adjusted over the years and completely renovated in 2004 by the municipality of Haskovo. The theater has two performance halls, a large hall for drama theater with 260 seats and a small hall for puppet theater with 110 seats.

The tympanum is supported by four massive columns, which are all crowned with an Ionic . This also counts for most of the huge that are placed on the , although some of them are also crowned with a Doric capital. The five that are placed within the western facade all contain frescoes, which are associated with theater.
