Teohari Antonescu County Museum

The first part of the construction of the building, which was originally built for governmental purposes, was completed somewhere in the 19th century. The building was enlarged and modernized in 1903 and later got an educational function when the Teohari Antonescu County Museum moved into it. During the bombardment that took place during the , the building was severely damaged and later rebuilt in a more modest way. The county museum that moved in at a later time, was established in 1934, by a decision of the Prefecture of Vlașca. At the suggestion of the scientist , it was named after the first professor of archeology at the University of , from Giurgi. The head of the institution was appointed, with an honorary title, the young professor Dumitru Berciu, who led it until 1948. After a hiatus of two years, it was re-established and developed over the course of two decades, by professor Gheorghe Rădulescu, a graduate of Belle-Arte, helped by the museographer and restorer Mihai Ionescu.

The part of the building, which is built in the Eclectic and Neo-Classical styles, is covered with a scaly sheet metal roof. Within the broken segmental , which is adorned with , you can see a circular window surrounded by floral ornamentation and a pointed pediment. The contains an that states MUZEU (Museum). The building features a total of three balconies, all of which are supported by two and secured with a stone balustrade. One of the balcony doors is flanked by two columns and two , which are all crowned with a Doric . The fragments that are placed underneath the second floor windows are beautifully embellished with all sorts of floral decorations.
