Márton Árpád Palace

The construction of the four-story building started in 1912 and was completed in 1913, and was built with a residential and commercial function. The construction of the palace was initiated by Márton Árpád Gróf, the then chief prosecutor of Szeged, to serve as a home for highly paid city officials. Márton commissioned the creation of the design for the construction to the Hungarian architect . Apartments were built on the upper floors of the building, and law offices operated on the first floor.

The symmetrical building, which is built in the style of Art Nouveau, features two covered with a dome that contains a lantern tower that's crowned with a . The that's placed on top of the column, which is supporting the turret, is adorned with an motif. The that are placed on both sides of the building are supported by two . The building features many in all shapes and sizes, some of which are supported by two more corbels. The ornamentation that's used to decorate the building consists of Hungarian folk art and floral decorations, including , which are made out of plaster and ceramics.
