Lajos Beregi House

The three-story building, which was built for residential and commercial purposes, was constructed in the period that lasted from 1902 until 1903. The building, which was built in the area of ​​the castle that was demolished after the in 1879, was constructed at the request of the local businessman Lajos Beregi and was designed by the Hungarian architect .

Until the end of his life, Lajos Beregi remained a member of the legislative authority committee and a leading member of Nagytakarék. President of the Jewish community, and a member of the Szeged Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 1938, Béla Beregi increased the number of rooms by relocating partitions and remodeled his apartment with the help of the master builder Ádám Schachmann. In 1941, during the , an emergency shelter was added to the building.

The Art Nouveau building, which is built out of mainly red and yellow bricks, is beautifully decorated with all sorts of floral ornamentation made out of ceramics and paint. The floral ornamentation also consists of various , which in some cases are placed in a , which in turn are placed in the top gables. The semi-octagonal is covered with a bell-shaped dome that features a lantern tower crowned with a . Between the first and second floors, you can see a lot of , which are all made out of red bricks.
