The two-story building was originally built in 1884 with a residential function, which later changed into an educational building. The design of the building building was created by the Hungarian architect , who also oversaw its construction. The ceramics that are used to decorate the building are all created in Factory and were placed on the building in 1897. The construction of the holiday home was commissioned by the wealthy iron merchant György Vasváry, who had it built in his large private vineyard. After the death of György Vasváry in 1905, the family members sold the pieces of the collection, but the building remained in the family's possession until nationalization in 1952. In 1969, it came under the management of the Pécs Academic Committee, and then in 1980, and at the end of the 1990s, a significant expansion took place, and the Zsolnay works, sculptures, and vases inside and in front of the building were restored.

The pyrogranite decoration of the building, which is built in the styles of Eclectic and Neo-Renaissance, as well as the garden decorations of the , , and fountain, were presumably made based on a design by . The that's placed on top of the part of the building, which also features some , is adorned with several . This part of the building also features two lovely that contain either the letter V or the letter G. The eight are either crowned with a Corinthian or a Doric . The balcony, which is secured with a stone balustrade with incorporated , is supported by a total of four all adorned with foliage. The ceramic decorations consist of the allegories of the four seasons, the heads of György Vasváry and Mária Rüffl, , as well as some coat of arms and the Roman numerals MCM.
