Pécs National Casino

The first building of the headquarters of the Pécs National Casino concerned a two-story building, which was built on the current two-story administrative and commercial building, was built in 1839 and inaugurated in August of that same year. This building served for about half a century, but then the time came to renew it. Towards the end of the century, the association decided to build a new headquarters, which was initially designed by the architect of German origin, August Kirstein. In the end, the Transylvanian master builder , who was also a member of the casino since 1890, revised the plans to reduce costs.

Based on these plans the construction of the new headquarters started in 1895 and was completed in 1896. Not only renovations on the building of the National Casino took place at this time, but also the composition of the membership was also transformed during this time. The National Casino ceased to exist at the end of the , and the Pécs Munkás Kaszinó was established in its building in April 1946. In 1962 the property was given to the National Defense and the Armed Forces Club.

A containing an oval-shaped window is placed on top of the building, which is built in the Neo-Classical style. Underneath the roof , you can see many in different sizes, which in some cases are incorporated with a that's adorned with four . The , which are abandonly present, are all crowned with a Doric , while the two columns are both crowned with an Ionic one. A rectangular-shaped is placed above almost all of the circle-top windows. The that are placed underneath the second floor windows are all inlaid with sun-shapes.
