Central Mineral Bath

The construction of the building, which was built with a hygienic function, was executed on the initiative of the then Minister of Agriculture and Trade Doctor . The construction started in 1907 and lasted for three years, and the bathhouse was officially opened on 24 May 1911. It was built according to the project of professor Artur Hoheder, a leading specialist in the design of public spas throughout Europe, and the construction manager was the architect Neno Neshev. It was built under the precise guidance of the entrepreneurs Savovi brothers from Sofia and Nikola Rangelov from Bankya. The area around the bathhouse was turned into a park that was landscaped by engineer Dimitar Hristov in which exotic tree species were planted. He not only drew up the plans but also annually supplemented the park with species from the Sofia and European botanical gardens.

Each compartment had 10 baths, two of them for the royal family. The materials for the interior, including glass bricks were shipped specifically for the bath from Belgium, France, and . All the pools, hot tubs, and baths were lined with Italian marble and mosaic, and Cabinets, doors, and floors were of Slavonian oak. In 2018, after years of neglect, the restoration of the bathhouse began and reopened its doors to the public in October 2022.

The roof of the Eclectic building features a lantern tower crowned with a , as well as two domes containing four dormers each. The protruded part above the main entrance is beautifully decorated with floral ornamentation, a , and two . A lovely decorated shell is placed above the main entrance door, which is flanked by two that are crowned with a . You will also see two other pilasters, but also two columns here, all of which are crowned with an Ionic capital, as well as two . The wings are decorated with loads of geometric and floral decorations, , adorned with , and some empty .
