Former Municipal Pharmacy

The building was originally built in 1912 as a municipal pharmacy. Nowadays it serves as an administrative building for the Ministry of Health. The Ministry of Health is a state institution in Bulgaria, which is responsible for achieving better health for citizens through integrated prevention, early diagnosis and effective treatment of diseases, and disabilities among the population. The Ministry of Health was established on 9 September 1944.

The building, which is built in the style of Neo-Baroque, contains some Art Nouveau features. One of these features is the richly decorated and above the main entrance door. The ornaments are placed within a , which is supported by two that are crowned with Ionic . Another richly decorated cartouche, which is flanked by two , can be admired above the small window on the right side of the main facade. Above this same window, you can see a straight pediment that's supported by two corbels. Underneath this pediment, you'll be able to see an , which is adorned with a and six . Above the main entrance, you'll be able to see a semi-hexagonal that stretches from the second all the way up to the third floor. The bottom of the oriel window contains floral ornaments, , and an motif. Underneath the windows on the second floor, you can see a , which contains stone . Above two of the windows, you can see more cartouches, pediments, and corbels, while above one of the other windows a festoon can be admired. Between the windows, there are a couple of more pilasters, also crowned with Ionic capitals.
