Leonhaus

The construction of the four-story building, which is commonly known by the name Leonhaus, started in 1905 and was completed in 1906. It was built with commercial premises on the first two floors and residential premises on the upper floors according to plans of the Klagenfurt city architect Max Schmidt. At a certain time, the building was used by Johann Leon, who ran a book prining, bookbinding, lithography, and paper shop there.

An impressive top gable can be admired on top of the Neo-Renaissance building, which is adorned with a , several garlands, and . Part of the top gable is the , which is topped with a lantern tower. At the same height, you can see some , as well as a frieze adorned with a cartouche surrounded by laurel twigs. A bit further down, you can see four , an motif, and some floral ornamentation.
