Karl Czell Palace

The construction of the three-story building, which was built for residential and commercial purposes, was completed in 1898. The construction, which was executed according to a design that came from the hand of the local architect and engineer , was commissioned by the liquor manufacturer Karl Czell. The two buildings that used to stand on the plot, one of which was owned by a family of Greek merchants, were demolished in 1898. Karl, who was the son of the merchant Karl Thomas Czell, was the father of the industrialists and entrepreneurs Frederich and Wilhem Czell. Karl Czell died on July 30, 1914, in .

The balustrade that's placed on top of the Eclectic building contains, in addition to many , a , a adorned with a , and a containing the initials K.C., the initials of the former owner. Underneath the roof , alternate with , of which the dentils are smaller, and the gap they leave is filled with a festoon. The straight , which are supported by two corbels and placed above the third floor windows, are beautifully adorned with a decorative vase that's surrounded by two . The broken pointed and segmental pediments, which are also supported by two corbels and in this case placed above the second floor windows, contain a mascaron in the broken part. The ornaments, which are placed between some of the windows, are embellished with another mascaron, as well as some . Loads of are used on the corners of the part of the building.
