Eugen von Trauschenfels House

The two-story corner building, which was built with residential and commercial premises in the 1800s, was constructed on the plot where the local Administration-Pretura used to stand. The construction, which was executed according to the project that was created by the local architect , was ordered by Transylvanian lawyer, journalist, and historian, Eugene Trausch von Trauschenfels, who was born on March 3, 1833, in Kronstadt, nowadays Brașov. He was the son of the Kronstadt senator Georg Friedrich Trausch von Traubenfels and his first wife Katharina Josephe Barbenius. In 1852, he went to study at the university in , and after completing his studies, on December 15, 1855, he moved to where he became the actual judge's office actuary of the Belenyeser see district. Sometime later, he asked to be released and opened a law practice in Kronstadt with his older brother Johann Peter Franz. He repeatedly spoke out against the Hungarian oppression of the Transylvanian Saxons. With petitions to the Minister of Justice, he protested against the arbitrariness of the Hungarian courts. In Vienna, Trausch was a secular councilor of the Evangelical Upper Church Council of the Augsburg Confession. Eugene Trausch von Trauschenfels died on February 20, 1903, in Kronstadt.

The Eclectic building contains a roof under which you can admire alternating and . The that can be seen on the second floor are all topped with an motif. A straight is placed above the second floor windows, which are either supported by two or three corbels. Underneath the pediments, which are adorned with floral ornamentation and , you can see decorated with a lovely motif. A like ornament is placed underneath the windows, which is surrounded by even more floral ornamentation.
