János Arany Palace

The two-story residential and educational building was constructed in 1912 as a tenement house to generate income for a collection of artifacts dedicated to the memory of the great Hungarian poet and translator . The János Arany Memorial Association was founded in 1894, and in a few years bought the plot on which his birth house was located. In the 1950s, the association's assets were nationalized, but the museum was still open to visitors. The city library was located on the upper floor of the apartment building, and business premises were created on the first floor. After the in 1989, a picture and workshop gallery operated on the first floor. After the regime change, the association reclaimed the building, which it got back in 2016.

The most eye-catching part of the Eclectic building is the turret, which is covered with a bell-shaped dome that's crowned with a . The mansard roof that you can see at the same height as the dome contains several small dormers, the middle one of which is decorated with . The decoration with which the building is decorated consists of geometric shapes and several that were placed above the second floor windows. On the latter floor there is also a balcony that is secured with a wrought iron railing, which is lavishly adorned with .
