Villa Șimay

- Șirul Livezii 2 -
The two-story residential building was built somewhere at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. It was built for the Armenian merchant brothers Gregor and Gerö Șimay, whose father was a famous merchant who founded the Șimay clothing company. The brothers took over the company from their father and opened a shop on Council's Square. Gregor Șimay was a royal municipal councilor and the president of the Brașov Popular Bank, and his son Eugen Șimay was one of the directors of the bank. In 1911, the Șimay brothers retired from trade and left the company to the traders Bologa, Czink, and Verzar. In 1927, Czink and Verzar separated from Emil Bologa and opened their own clothing company, and Emil Bologa, with 30 years of experience in the field, remains in the same place.
