Albert Spitz House

The three-story building was built in 1912 with residential premises on the upper two floors and commercial premises on the first floor. The building was built for the wealthy merchant Albert Spitz, who commissioned the creation of the design to the Austrian architect . In the 1920s, the residential part of the building was inhabited by Ioan and Elisabeta Baciu, the parents of the Romanian and Brazilian poet, novelist, publicist, and academic, . Other inhabitants of the residential part were Doctor Valeriu Negrila, Major Mihailescu, the typographer Boerescu, and Wilhelm and Emilie Schreiber, who were the co-owners of the Scherg factory. The commercial part was divided into two shops which over the years was occupied by the men's fashion store named Lischka, several banks, the Cooperative Bookshop, and Károly Blösz's textile store. In 1929, the building was bought by Banca Casa Ardeleană and Casa de Economie.

On top and around the mansard roof of the symmetrical Art Nouveau building, you can admire several , statues of , and some decorative ornaments that are adorned with floral ornamentation. The putti are either holding a garland or a , a decoration that's used to decorate the building elsewhere as well. The same applies to the floral decoration, including some , which among other things, can also be seen in the frieze. In addition, the building is decorated with , which can be found in the , and also several , which can be found, among other things, in the railing of the , in which a Greek key motif is also used. The building also features many frames in different shapes and sizes, which are decorated with an motif.
