Lajos Tunner House

The construction permit for the construction of the two-story building, which was built with commercial premises on the first floor and residential premises on the second floor, was obtained in April 1902. It was acquired by the stonemason Lajos Tunner, who gave the order for its construction in 1903 to his son, the architect and builder Arthur Tunner. Lajos Tunner was one of the most important stonemasons of the city, contributing significantly to the plastic appearance of Timișoara, his company operating since 1876. His son, Kornél Tunner, will carry on the family's tradition of stone carvers, standing out in mainly through the quality of his funerary works.
