Roman Catholic Girls' School

The three-story building was built between 1890 and 1892 for the educational needs of the Sancta Maria Roman Catholic Girls' School. The building was constructed according to the plans of the engineer Antal Jelinek from Wischau, nowadays , and executed by the Hungarian master builder Pál Soós. The girls' section of the Jesuit mixed school, which split into two in 1784, moved in here. In 1892, the Mallersdorf sisters took over the management of the school. From 1898, the school operated with four elementary and four civil classes. After the , the communist regime came to power and in 1949 they abolished the monastic orders and religious education, and the Art Lyceum, established in 1908, was moved into the building.

On top of the building, which is built in the Neo-Baroque and Neo-Renaissance styles, you can admire a in addition to a cross. The tympanum, like the of which it is part, is embellished with . The , which is placed within the tympanum, in which a biblical scene is depicted. The that can be seen between the two cornices, contains an that states "SANCTA MARIA". The columns that are placed on the third floor are crowned with a Corinthian , while the ones on the second floor are crowned with an Ionic one. A straight is placed above the third floor windows, while above the other windows, you can admire a , of which the ones that are placed above the first floor windows are adorned with foliage. Underneath the third floor windows, you can see a with incorporated , while are underneath the second floor windows.
