Nicolai Kuşkovschi House

The one-story building was built in the period that lasted from 1879 until 1894 with a residential function. It was built for the government secretary Nicolai Ivanovici Kuşkovschi, who bought the plot in 1878 from the public auction organized by the Urban Administration. In 1897 the building was bought by Doctor Lazar Tumarkin, who between 1898 and 1902 built another building on the plot as a hydrotherapy clinic. Lazar had two sons, Mitya and Serioja, who were studying in in 1924. In the interwar period, the clinic was rebuilt by modifying the structure and architecture of the main facade. The building has undergone multiple interventions, including destruction during the . Later on, it became the home of the National Olympic and Sports Committee of the Republic of Moldova, which was founded on January 29, 1991.
