Pharmacy Bölcs

The construction of the two-story building, which was built with commercial premises on the first floor and residential premises on the upper floor, was completed in 1896 according to an unknown architect from Vienna. The pharmacy of the Bölcs family, which was founded by Béla Bölcs in 1842, was located on the first floor and several apartments on the second floor. Béla ran the pharmacy until his death, and then his son, Doctor Gyula Bölcs, took it over around 1920, under the name Pharmacy of the Hungarian Crown. The pharmacy operated in the city from 1842 until the end of the in 1945, the same year that Gyula was dragged away by the Serbs and executed after about two months of imprisonment. The granddaughter of the last owner, Juli Bölcs, have had a pharmacy in with the same name since 1992.

Later on, the premises, which were owned by the municipality, were used by the Potrošnik trading company. It housed a paint and varnish shop in one part and a perfumery or drug store in the other part, and for a long time, there was a law office in the upper rooms. Even later, the building became used as a tourist agency's office, which will also be the hotel's reception and the hotel rooms on the upper floor.

The attic of the Neo-Baroque building features two balustrades, both of which contain loads of , while only one is decorated with globes. The roof is decorated with that can also be seen as . Either a straight or a segmental is placed above the second floor windows, which are all supported by two corbels. The same counts for the that's placed on the corner, which is secured with a stone balustrade that also contains some wrought iron .
