- Europska Avenija 13 -
The construction of the two-story building, which was built for the administrative needs of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, was completed in 1894. The construction, which took place ten years before the Croatian Chamber of Commerce in , was executed according to the design that came from the hand of the architect Hugo Engelsrat, and the technical supervision of the construction was entrusted to the builder Julio Herrmann. The ceremonial opening of the building took place on November 11, 1894, and was attended by numerous high guests. The Croatian Chamber of Commerce originates from the Chamber of Trades, which began operating on February 16, 1852, in Zagreb. During the 1920s the chamber was significantly modernized, growing into a strong and reputable institution on a European scale. In 1932 it was divided into Trade-Industrial and Handicraft Chamber, and in 1938 the Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Industry were created separately. Apart from a few years in the postwar period, those chambers operated as separate branches until 1962, when the unified Croatian Chamber of Commerce was founded.
