Valentin Krisper House

The construction of the three-story building, which was designed by the Italian architect , started in 1900 and was completed in 1901 and was supposed to be the model for the development of the rest of the square. The construction was commissioned by the local lawyer Valentin Krisper for his and his family's residential needs. He was born on December 9, 1860, in Ljubljana, began his studies at the gymnasium in Ljubljana, and continued his studies in , where he graduated in law in 1884. He then lived in for some time and later graduated from court practice in Vienna and then worked as a trainee in Ljubljana until he opened his own law firm in collaboration with Tominšek. As a co-founder of the regional association for the promotion of tourism in and its official, he was in charge of the preparatory work for Carniola's participation in the Austrian exhibition in in 1906 and in the international tourism exhibition in in 1911. He was a delegate at the central conference of the Austrian regional association for Carniola. After the , he was very concerned with the beautification of Ljubljana, among other things he had the Miklosich monument erected at his own expense and wrote or edited most of the tourist advertising material that was published at the time in various languages. Valentin Krisper died on August 20, 1931, in , at the age of 70.

The on the corner of the Art Nouveau building contains a lovely wrought and cast iron that's adorned with circles and . The turret is covered with a bell-shaped dome, which is crowned with a . The facade is embellished with all sorts of whiplash lines, floral and geometric decorations, including parts that are decorated with coarse stucco, as well as that are placed underneath the eave.
