Anton Deghenghi House

The four-story building was constructed in the period that lasted from 1904 until 1905 and was built for residential purposes. The original plan was created by the Slovenian architect and some later adjustments were made by the Slovenian builder and entrepreneur . The construction was ordered by the wealthy Italian factory owner and merchant, Anton Deghenghi, who came to Ljubljana from . In 1907, he was also the person who opened the first permanent cinema in Ljubljana, called Edison, named after the American inventor .

The most eye-catching feature of the Art Nouveau building is the on the corner, which is supported by fused adorned with a . The dome that's placed on top of the turret is crowned with a . The building is richly decorated with all kinds of geometric shapes, including many rectangles that in some cases are embellished with floral decorations. A is placed over almost all of the fourth floor windows, with the exception of the three windows located in the turret. The balconies, which are located on both sides of the building, are supported by either two or four corbels.
