Springer-Petru House

The three-story residential and commercial building was built in 1911 by the project of the Austrian architect and builder and the local builder . The building was designed so that it occupies the entire construction site, and in the middle there is a rectangular courtyard that provides lighting to the apartments, shops and warehouses located in the courtyard wings of the building. The building was constructed for the Nuremberg goods store Springer & Petra, and the building and company were inherited by the wholesaler Bela Springer, who was a long-time member of the board and president of the Gornji Grad Jewish Municipality. He died in in 1932 and was buried at the Gornji Grad Jewish Cemetery.

The protruded part, which is beautifully framed with a and located on top of the Art Nouveau building, contains a fragmtent that's adorned with a . The same counts for the fragments that are located between the third and second floors, although these cartouches are more lavishly decorated. The two that are placed on top of the are surrounded by two . The decorative band that at some places gets interrupted by the second floor windows is beautifully decorated with a mix of floral and geometric decorations. The central balcony is supported by a total of four , which are embellished with . Between the second and first floors there is another cornice, which is adorned with . The circle-top windows on the first floor are topped with a .
