The two-story detached building, which was constructed with both an administrative and commercial function, was built in 1909. The construction, which was executed according to the design that was created by the Italian builder and architect Valent Morandini, was commissioned by the Austro-Hungarian Bank and was used as one of their branches. Their first branch in Varaždin was opened on the main square on December 10, 1900.

The protruded parts of the Art Nouveau building are decorated with geometric forms, including that are adorned with a .
