Houses of the Sisters Paraskeva and Nedyalka

- Kniaz Aleksandar Dondukov Street 33-35 -
Both of the residential buildings were built in 1910 and were designed by the Bulgarian architect . They were built for the sisters Paraskeva Boykova and Nedyalka Avramova. The house of Paraskeva Boykova is located at number 33 and the one of Nedyalka Avramova at number 35. In their original form, the two houses were completely identical and mirrored each other, but after the reconstruction and significant expansion of the building at number 33, which was the work of the Bulgarian architect Siya Tilkova, their symmetry is now partially lost.
Before the reconstruction of number 33
Both buildings were built in the Art Nouveau style, while the house at number 33 now has a more modern appearance. Both buildings still feature an with a balcony on top of it, as well as a half-circular gable. The underneath the oriel windows, and underneath the upper gable are not that different. The building at number 33 has some additional windows on the attic floor, and two balconies above the main entrance door.
House of Nedyalka Avramova
The building at number 35 still is in its original state, so you can still see how the architect intended both buildings. The building has more decorative ornaments, which can be seen around the corbels, above each window, and in the . Although they have lost their symmetry, the twin houses on Kniaz Aleksandar Dondukov Boulevard still retain their charm.
