The four-story building, which was constructed between 1896 and 1897 for residential purposes, was probably built according to the project of the German-Bohemian architect and master builder . The building was built by the then-owner, Doctor August Herrmann, who had it named Stadt Bremen. Before the current building was built, a building used to stand on this plot, which burned down, along with many other buildings, during the of 1759. The building was rebuilt by Regina Raab and it was given the name Haus Weinberg, and later on, in 1835, it was renamed Stadt Lübeck. In more recent years, the building became the property of the company Hotel Ester.

The building, built in the Neo-Renaissance style with Neo-Baroque elements, accommodates lavishly decorated dormers embellished with pointed and swan neck , as well as and . One of the dormers is placed on top of a semi-hexagonal , underneath which two supportive corbels can be seen that are adorned with volutes, foliage, and , the latter of which are also used to decorate other corbels, some of the , window frames, and . Underneath the oriel window, you can also see , which are also used to decorate the . The above the fourth floor windows are, like the , adorned with another cartouche, while pointed pediments above the third floor windows are adorned with a decorative shell. The two are supported with even more corbels and secured with a balustrade with incorporated and cast iron parts.
