Former Hotel Boris

The former hotel building was built in 1906 and was designed by the Bulgarian architect . The building probably underwent an upgrade in 1914, as can be seen in the , which is located in the central top gable. In 1933, the hotel was owned by the entrepreneur Stanko Valchanov, who ran the hotel together with his two brothers. In 1936, he bought it from them. There were only eighteen rooms for guests there, which even for that time was not big, but because of its central location near the station and the port, it was a popular place to spend the night.

Stanko Valchanov founded the first hotel and restaurant guild in Varna and organized a scientific excursion to , , , and . Stanko Valchanov was a hotelier with exceptional dedication toward customers. He provided them with a welcome even at the station. He learned their birth dates in advance and left flowers in their rooms. After the nationalization in 1944, he remained the manager of his own hotel although it was nationalized. He lived with his family on the entire top floor of the hotel.

In the recent past, the building was used by the district station of young technicians and after that, it became an administrative and commercial building.
Stanko Valchanov
The Art Nouveau building contains a total of five top gables, of which the central one differs from the other four. Underneath the roof , you'll see another cornice, which is adorned with floral ornamentation. The cornice is interrupted at some places by that are decorated on top with cartouches. The building contains a total of four balconies, three smaller ones and one bigger one. The cast iron railings of the balconies are decorated with what looks like mushrooms. The bigger balcony is placed on top of the round shaped .

The top of the balcony door is richly decorated with beautiful floral ornamentation. Underneath the oriel window, you'll be able to see even more beautiful floral ornaments, as well as two cartouches that contain a rose in the center of them. Underneath six of the windows, you can see a fragment, which has many similarities with the cartouches that are located underneath the oriel window.
