Bulgarian Agricultural Bank

- San Stefano Square 1 -
The design for the commercial building, which was created by the Bulgarian architect , was completed in 1929. The construction of the building was finished in 1932 and was commissioned by the Bulgarian Agricultural Bank. The bank was founded in 1904 by a special law and functioned until 1934 when it was merged with the Bulgarian Central Cooperative Bank into the Bulgarian Agricultural and Cooperative Bank. Throughout its existence, the bank has been a means of hidden subsidization, mainly of agricultural producers and cooperatives, and its planned losses are, with some delay, assumed by the state.

Later on, the building became in use as an administrative building for the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In 2020, the building underwent a complete renovation that gave back its authentic form.
