Grigor Peychev House

The residential building was built in 1923 and was designed by the Bulgarian architect . The sculptures are the work of the Bulgarian sculptor . It was built for the wealthy merchant Grigor Peychev, who was born in 1872. He completed his commercial education in and since 1885 he owned a shop for colonial and Turkish goods. In 1905 he married Ana Encheva, one of the three daughters of the revolutionary .

He took part in many of the wars that took place at the beginning of the 20th century. After the , he became an honorary consul of Hungary. In 1923, together with a partner, he built this house but his partner withdrew and he was forced to repay the loans himself. He ran into financial difficulties and in 1929 sold the house to the merchant Moshom Kokashveli. Grigor Peychev died in 1930, in Varna.

The building was built in the Eclectic style and contains some Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Baroque elements. On top of the southwestern corner, you can see a small dome with a on top of it. Underneath the two alluring round pointy-shaped roof , you'll be able to admire a richly decorated , one of which contains the construction year 1923. On the third floor, you can see quite a lot of sculptures of . The building is lavishly decorated with an motif, which can be seen on the third and second floor. There are a lot of fragments between the windows that are decorated with floral ornaments. Most of the stone blocks are adorned with the technique of , while others are adorned with what looks like a flower.
